Join researcher Katie Douglass to learn about the findings from The Confirmation Project. This project, housed at Princeton Theological Seminary and funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc., studied the confirmation and equivalent programs of over 3000 congregations and found that confirmation programs that engaged parents, utilized mentors, went to camp, and engaged the theological curiosity and questions of youth had the greatest success in making disciples of Jesus Christ.
While there is no easy formula for great faith formation, the findings of this research show ministry leaders what other congregations are doing, what youth are interested in, and what parents are hoping.
After the lecture there will be time for you to reflect on your own program and imagine with other ministry leaders what small or large changes you might consider making based on this research.
